Simultaneous Gravure Roller Coating Technology Revolutionises Coating Machines

September 2nd, 2010
15 June 2010 - Simultaneous coating is always applied when flexible carrier material should be coated on both front and back side, whether with similar or different coating weights. However, the better-known processes such as pan-fed gravure rollers, kiss-roll coating with nip dosing, double-sided wire doctor blade systems or four-roller coaters all hold some risk. Problems such as solvent evaporation and foam development must be reckoned with, and production rates are limited. Kroenert solved this problem as far back as 1996 with the development of chamber doctor blade coating for gravure ...

ODIN Sprint – When Quality is Essential and Time is of the Essence

September 1st, 2010
In the final weeks and days prior to launch, the new product development (NPD) process comes under its greatest strain. Typically, activities have already started to run over time during the concept and feasibility phases despite best efforts to remain on schedule. The race is then on to move each product through the key activities of pack copy generation, final artwork sign-off and first production and print runs. In this race to launch ODIN Sprint can mean the difference between winning and losing. ODIN Sprint is part of a suite of modules, which make up ODIN – a platform used for managin...

monta Releases Review and Outlook for 2010

September 1st, 2010
The first eight months of 2010 are gone and we would like to provide a short review and outlook for the rest of the year - a difficult task with all the fast-changing market influences. Up to now the business was effected by heavy price increases for all raw materials combined with shortages especially on the natural rubber and resin side. All the signs point to a continuation of this trend until at least the end of the year. With a raw material share of 65%-75% of the finished product for PVC and OPP self-adhesive tapes, the necessity to forward price corrections to the market was...

Amazing launch party cake

August 29th, 2010

Alfred App: 0.7 launch cake

It would be an understatement to say we’ve got great friends – they’re downright awesome! For our end-of-summer BBQ, which was also a bit of a deadline/launch party for the Alfred Powerpack, Lee made us an Alfred bowler hat shaped cake!

What better way to celebrate having been recluse shut-ins for months, working away, than by having a great day with friends? Even the rain stayed away for most of the day.

More photos coming soon, I’m sure, but I had to share this one!

Voting Question: Do i sound like a shopaholic? Am i? (i think am in denial)?

August 27th, 2010
Basically i work right near main shopping centre. I cant quit my job. I spend at least £20 every day. Some days over £30 I feel like i belong to the shops. I love shops. if i see something that is cute i would buy it. otherwise i cant stop thinking about it all day and start regretting it etc etc. I dont have many designer labels as i am trying to be careful and not go overboard. Although i can easily buy something that i would like there easily. If i dont buy stuff for me, i buy it for my husband. Or anyone else that are very close to me. I can shop for anything. Some clothes and shoes i havent worn yet, and i do feel bit bad. Somedays i hide the clothes from my husband. So it doesnt look like i been shopping everyday. I save it for another day and put it all in one carrier bag. I lie to my husband which is bad i know that i got it from the sale etc. Sometime i tell him, i been looking for this for ages and finally found it. (I dont think he believes me to be honest) When he goes through my accounts i really hate it. He really hates it when i say "its my money" he gets angry when i say that. I dont know what to do. I cant live without my purse. I tried leaving my purse at home, but kept thinking oh what if something happens and i need the cash or my card? I work full time. So i do spend my money and no one elses. But hubby doesnt like it when i say its my money. Even when i feel down i go shopping. It makes me feel happy again. I forget all my problems etc. Does this sound bad? Do i need therapy? Alot of my clothes i dont wear much and still in good condition. But i dont want to give it away (selfish i know) but they mean alot to me. Am not in debt, but do think one day i may well be
