This is what summer should be like :)

If you’ve not yet met Jack and Rose, here’s what they were like at the age of nine weeks old.

Open Question: A work situation is getting me down – where do I stand on this? Or do I grin and bear it?

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009
I work as a receptionist for a large, independant retailer which is run by a family (husband and wife and their 2 sons). My job is to deal with all incoming calls and all vistors to the site, send out rotas, deal with flowers for the desks and seating areas, and order stationery. One of the directors (MD's son) employed a Marketing Assistant about 6 months ago (a friend of his). She's a lady who is about 10 years older than me (I'm 30), I was initially intimidated by how 'well to do' she is but she's always been friendly enough and I have no problem with her on a personal level. 3 weeks ago she appeared at my desk with a sackful of marketing literature which we'd sent out to customers and had been returned to us (changed address, etc.) and told me that I would now be responsible for updating the databases. It emerged that although this is her job she hasn't actually done any of it and instead has been saving up all the returned leaflets. We've since had 8 mailing sacks full of these leaflets returned to us and it is now my responsibility to update the details. I'm finding it difficult to get this done in addition to my own tasks - mentioned it to my direct boss who just said "take your time" but the MA keeps asking me how I'm getting on with it. This afternoon she brought down a huge carrier bag full of more leaflets and told me that in addition to updating the details she'd like me to set up a spreadsheet and log every person that I delete or add to the system. Again, she's saved all this so there's absolutely loads. This passing on of duties because they're unpleasant is really getting me down. Where can I stand on this? Grin and bear it? Sorry for lengthy question - wanted to be thorough. Thanks in advance.

Resolved Question: A work situation is getting me down – where do I stand on this? Or do I grin and bear it?

Open Question: Kayaking/camping and want stuff to stay dry?

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009
I'm going on holiday for a long weekends kayak and camp up the River Dart this weekend. One thing I'm worried about is our gear getting soaked from (and I'm praying it won't happen) a capsize. Now obviously anything can happen, so I want to be prepared in case it does. We'll have a couple of tents, hiking rucksacks and food, which I'll be towing in a spare kayak behind me. I'd prefer it if there was an actual waterproof product specifically designed for such an event rather than trying to use bin-liners or carrier bags. What do you do when you go kayaking and camping? Anything you can suggest? Thanks, as always, Pan

BERICAP’s SK 110/37 Closure for the Edible Oil Industry: Safety and Tightness for a Big Mouth PET Container

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009
The pickle and edible oil industry in Turkey was suffering serious leakage problems with packages when using the conventional closure solutions without TE-band. Tightness of the package could not be achieved with the existing closure profile. Therefore producers of both markets were searching for a closure solution with a good non-leaking profile and with a tamper-evident band (TE-band) function to secure their products against potential counterfeiting. Following the demand, BERICAP has designed the new SK 110/37 closure. The new SK 110/37 screw cap is equipped with a newly developed no...
