Voting Question: The carrier pidgeon dilemma?
Tuesday, March 17th, 2009
(Sorry for bad english... not native)
Once upon a time a pigeon was born. His mother wanted him to be a carrier pigeon, one of the best precisely. So as soon as he could, he was set to study maps, routes, cities, addresses. While the other baby pigeons where going around trying to fly, he was studying all time in his nest. Finally after long time, he completed is education. He stood on the edge of the nest and realized: he never learnt to fly! At first he stared down, thrilling. Fear was too much. So he thought: I may fly tomorrow and went back to the nest, reading his maps and addresses. The day after he woke up, yawned in the sun and started looking around. Something was missing. He went at the edge of the nest, looked around and finally down, on the ground, there was his mother, dead. Mourning days followed, other birds came to visit, they brought food, pieces for the nest and comfort. After a few days, his father came back too. It was long time he was gone and his mother didn’t want him around anymore. Little pigeon thought that maybe his father could take the place of his mother. But that was not the case. The old pigeon didn’t care very much about his education, for him everything in life was spending time at the park, catching some bread from humans. But little pigeon was expecting him to change, so he started waiting, waiting and waiting and in the meantime he continued to postpone the day of his flight. But nothing changed at all. One day the little pigeon, tired of so much waiting, tried to jump on a neighbor branch. He was so scared he nearly had a heart attack. he rested a little bit. Then he jumped on a farther branch and he suceeded too. Then he started watching around, other pidgeons where flying, he had to do that too. So he took all of his forces and jumped down, started flapping, one, two, ground approaching and… yes he was flying for real! The next day he started delivering mail and, for a while, everything was good. Then one day he went back to his nest, to collect some books he needed. He found the nest abandoned, his father was not taking much care of it, staying always at the park. The old pigeon seemed depressed. He went back to his work, but he starting feeling nervous. The job didn’t seem so promising, he was not assigned difficult routes or important messages. Ordinary mail. The nest he found for himself was on a badly crowded tree. Mess and noise all the time, lots of small hummingbirds going everywhere and twitting all the time. He was working with old carrier pigeons and not getting along very well with them. Day after day he started feeling empty. Like his life was of no meaning. He was feeling as lonely as when he was in his nest studying, but a lot more lonely. Yeah, he could fly now, but that didn’t bring anything of what he imagined, more than this there was nobody to take care of his old nest, his stuff and felt like he had nobody to visit, to remeber his past. So one day he threw his bag and went back to his old nest for a while. He started restoring his nest, promising that in a few days he would start to fly again. But he wasn’t. His father was giving him some breadcrumbs and that was all of his sustainment. He was feeling muscles of his wings getting shorter and less powerful, it was like becoming child again. His father was even getting sick and he was worried because of this. He started feeling angry all the time, cursing his destiny. Flying, maps, addresses, female pidgeons, trees, didn’t seem to be important anymore for him. Nothing interested him at all. The more he was going on, the more he was feeling like taking off again. Other pigeons started talking about him, gossip. He was like fool of the village. Capable of doing the best job a pigeon could do and staying in his old nest all the time. Yes he was doing some trials, time to time. Jumping on neighboring trees. But every time he was feeling like his old nest was calling him back.
Please write an end to this story.
Resolved Question: Empty your bowels into a plastic bag? Poll?
Tuesday, March 17th, 2009
Hello, I would like to give this pole a second chance. I didn’t really get the yes /no answers I needed before.
I'm wondering how common this is (at least once in someones life), not for medical reasons – Have you ever gone toilet in a plastic bag. A simple yes or no would be great if you have time. The reason I'm asking is because I seem to have come across an awful lot of plastic carrier bags with human excrement inside.
Thanks
It was all human excrement (honestly, I can tell, dog owner myself).
