Resolved Question: Question about having a dog in New Hope?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
I know that you can't bring a dog into a Target or a Walmart even in a doggy tote bag, but I was thinking of taking my chi to New Hope with us. I see dogs there all the time and dogs sitting outside with their owners at restaurants, so don't tell me that you can't bring them to New Hope!... Anyway, I was thinking the carrier would be a good idea for when we go into those small craft stores where he wont be able to walk around because there wont be much room. Would it be a big to have him in the bag for when we go into stores and maybe put him on the leash for his walks... I could get a big enough bag for him with padding so he is some what comfortable. He's a 10 pound chihuahua! Don't be rude in your answers! Just let me know if you think it is a good idea? I am sick of answers like that! You are allowed to bring your dog to New Hope! Every street we turn down had at least 3 dogs with owners... I just want to know for the welfare of my dog.. Would he be ok spending all day with us outside and in the area, i the bag and on the leash.. Dog owners please!

Resolved Question: If you had a small dog in a dog tote bag, could you take it into a store like Target?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
If he was in a pet carrier/tote bag.. Maybe with a flap open so he can see.. Could you take him into a store like Target or Walmart? Or is it illegal? Geez, I was just asking! You people don't need to get so defensive. And I don't "shove" my dog into anything! If he doesn't like the bag, then I wont put him in one.. I see people all the time with dogs in human stores, so I wasn't sure if it was ok. And besides, I took my pom to the mall the day we had him put to sleep. He loved seeing people, so I thought on his last day he should get out and see people! And NO ONE said anything to me about having him in the mall!

Resolved Question: What would be the purpose of getting a dog carrier/tote bag?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
I was thinking of getting a dog carrier/tote bag for my 10 pound chihuahua. I have no idea why! I just know that people who have chihuahuas get these bags and the doggy sits in it and you look like a celebrity. I don't know. I guess if I were taking him out with me and I didn't want him running around or maybe a store where he can't be out and about in. I guess I would have it for that. But what are some other reasons to have it?

How Stephen Fry lost Britain hundreds of man-hours of work

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Around lunchtime today, Stephen Fry, national treasure and Twitter celeb, announced that to celebrate having 50,000 followers, he would hold a challenge:

stephen_fry_challenge

He adds “There’s the competition in a nutshell below. Star it for reference. The prize will be good and sent anywhere in the world.”

Now I’m not quite sure what makes Stephen’s challenge more viral than any other Twitter-led idea but it’s been spreading like wildfire. It could be:

  • Wanting to be recognised as clever by such a high profile personality
  • The lure of the prize (as of yet unknown)
  • The sheer madness of the challenge (Have YOU tried fitting 50 L’s in 140 characters?!)

It’s fair to say that many man-hours were lost today whilst tweeters attempted to make up their own sentences. See for yourself on Twitter Search for the volume of inbound tweets to Stephen today.

This challenge is particularly sweet because there are no strings attached, just a bit of fun with the potential for a fun prize picked by a discerning geek. However, if a brand were to use this format for a campaign, you know what… I probably wouldn’t be too adverse to it! What about you?

And my attempt? I’m still failing because it’s far too long, but here’s what I’ve got so far: “Llewellyn’s llama lulled lamentably ill Lola’s lily & Lloyd lol’ed @ little Lola’s silly ballet flailing. Filling Lilly’s yellow lilo, he spells llastically: Billy tells & yells loyally”

Blurgh!

Resolved Question: is this my worst joke yet A Little Paper Bag ?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
A little paper bag was feeling unwell, so he took Himself off to see the paper bag doctor. 'Doctor, I don't feel too good,' said the little Paper bag. 'Hmm, you look OK to me,' said the Doctor, 'but I'll do a blood test and see what that shows, Come back and see me in a couple of days.' The little paper bag felt no better when he got back for the results. 'What's wrong with me?' asked the little paper bag. 'I'm afraid you are HIV positive!' said the doctor. Resolved Question: Why is my cat obsessed with biting plastic bags and similar stuff?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
We have a big fat furry lump of a cat who is obsessed with biting plastic carrier bags or any plastic packaging. He doesn't actually tear any off but just bites the same bit. He has also done the same with a Jack Kerouac poster that I got sent over from America. Is it a flossing thing ? Can he be stopped? Thanks. Ps. I very much doubt it is linked in any way to feline behaviour , he is cat by name only . Honestly.
